Instructions:
*Note: Appliques may be stitched by machine or by hand, or they may be glued in place. If the choice is to glue, complete the entire cat before adhering.

Step 1: Cut felt as directed on the pattern pieces. Use the chalk to transfer all markings. Note that a 1/4" seam allowance is included, where needed. All seams should be clipped and trimmed after stitching.

Step 2: Measure and cut the following additional felt pieces:
4" X 3/4" strips
(4) Limbo Lime
(2) Coral Dawn
(2) Wave Green (for leg bands)
3/4" circle - (2) Limbo Lime for eyes
3/8" circle - (2) Black for pupils

Step 3: WRSF up, pin muzzle to head front. Edge stitch in place. Pin and stitch Limbo Lime triangle in place for nose. Center and stitch Coral Dawn triangle over nose. Using three strands of floss, chain stitch along the marking for the mouth. Set aside.

Step 4: WRSF pin two body sections together and stitch along the center seam. This will be the front. Pin appliques to the body, referring to the model for suggested placement. Stitch in place.

Step 5: WRSF pin and stitch one paw to the narrow end of one leg. Repeat for the remaining leg sections. WRSF pin two leg sections together, aligning edges. Stitch around the leg and paw, leaving the top end open. Turn right side out. Firmly stuff the paw section. Repeat for the remaining legs.

Step 6: Pin the upper legs to the right side of the body front as designated on the pattern. Baste in place.

Step 7: With right sides facing, pin the tail sections together. Stitch along the sides and curve of the tail, leaving the end open. Turn right side out. Stuff the lower half of the tail to a medium firmness and stuff the top half lightly. Baste the top closed.

Step 8: Pin and baste the tail to the right side of one body (back) section, approximately 11/4" above the lower edge. With right sides facing, pin the back body sections together. Stitch along the center back seam, leaving a 4-5" opening at the center for turning.

Step 9: WRSF pin and stitch the front head and body sections together at the neck. Repeat for the back head and body sections.

Step 10: WRSF pin body front and back together, aligning edges. Stitch around the entire head and body. Turn body right side out.

Step 11: Firmly stuff the head and neck. Stuff the remaining body to a medium firmness. Stitch the back opening closed by hand.

Step 12: WRSF pin one inner ear to one outer ear. Stitch around the ear, leaving a 1" opening at the lower edge for turning. Turn right side out. Place ear as desired on cat's head. Hand stitch in place. Repeat for the remaining ear.

Step 13: Referring to the model for suggested placement, wrap each "ankle" and "knee" with a colored band, overlapping ends. Glue ends together to secure.

Step 14: Using three strands of floss and long "soft sculpturing" stitches, create toes on each paw.

Step 15: Layer and glue eye sections together. Place eyes as desired and glue to head.

Step 16: Use the White dimensional paint to add a highlight dot to each pupil. Allow paint to dry.
