Materials & Supplies
9 oz Burgundy worsted weight yarn
8 oz Cornmeal worsted weight yarn
Size “J” crochet hook
Tapestry needle
14" Pillow form or polyester fiberfill to stuff

Directions:

Strip A: (make 6)
Row 1: With Cornmeal, ch 10, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn

Rows 2-8: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 9: Sc in each sc across, change to Burgundy, ch 1, turn

Rows 10-17: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 18: Sc in each Sc across, change to Cornmeal, ch 1, turn

Row 19-26: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 27: Sc in each sc across, change to Burgundy, ch 1, turn

Rows 28-35: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 36: Sc in each sc across, change to Cornmeal, ch 1, turn

Rows 37-44: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn

Row 45: Sc in each sc across, finish off, weave in loose ends.

Strip B: (make 4)

Panel Assembly
Pillow is constructed of two panels (one for the front, one for the backside) using 3 of Strip A and 2 of Strip B for each panel. Strips are whipstitched together lengthwise as shown below:



Pillow Assembly and Border:
Rnd 1: Place the two completed panels wrong sides together. With Burgundy yarn and working through both thicknesses, sc two panels together along three sides. Make sure to keep the checker squares lined up. Insert pillow form (or stuff with polyester fiberfill), sc fourth side closed, ch 1, turn.

Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around working 3 sc in corners, ch 1, turn

Rnd 3: RSC in each sc around working 3 RSC in corners, finish off, weave in loose ends.
