CROCHET HOOK: "Boye" Steel Hook, Size 00

GAUGE: 3 patterns = 4 inches
CHECK YOUR GAUGE -It is very important to work to gauge given at beginning of instructions to insure correct size of article. When you have about 1 inch finished, measure off 2 inches in width and mark with pins. Count the stitches between pins. If you have less stitches than required for 2 inches your work is too loose, try smaller size needles or crochet hook. If you have more stitches than required for 2 inches, your work is too tight, try larger size needles or crochet hook.

Ch 95 sts for front edge; 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each st to end of ch; 94 Sc.

Row 2 - right side-Ch 3, turn, 3 dc in first space under ch 3, * ch 2, 1 sc in space under next ch 3, ch 2, 3 dc in space under next ch 3 *; repeat between across, end 1 dc in last sc; 15-1/2 pats.

Row 3 - Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first dc, * ch 3, skip 3 dc, 1 sc in next space under ch 2, ch 3, skip sc, 1 sc in next space under ch 2 *, repeat between *'s, end ch 3, skip last 3 dc, 1 sc in top of turning ch.

Row 4 - Dec. row-Ch 2, turn, yo, draw up a loop in first space, yo, through 2 loops, yo, draw up a loop in next space, yo, through 2 loops, yo, through 3 loops, 2 dc in same space; repeat between of row 2 to within 3 spaces of end, ch 2, 1 sc in space under next ch 3, ch 2, 2 dc in next space, yo, draw up a loop in same space, yo, through 2 loops, yo, draw up a loop in last space, yo, through 2 loops, yo, draw up a loop in last sc, yo, through 2 loops, yo, through 4 loops.

BORDER
Round 1 - From right side, work 1 row sc on foundation ch keeping an even edge, continue on shaped edges, increasing at corners. Join with slip st.

Round 2 - Working from same side, work 1 sc in each sc of previous round, working in back loop of sts and increasing at corners. Join; fasten off.

TIE STRINGS
With 2 strands of yarn, ch 57. Work 1 slip st in 2nd and each st to end of ch. working in horizontal loop at back of ch. Fasten off, leaving an end. Make 2. Sew on each end of front as illustrated. Steam lightly.
