Crocheted Cap and Bow Hat Pattern

Materials List
Use 3 colors of Coats and Clark's "Knit-Cro-Sheen" (NOTE: This is probably meant to be 1 ball of each color)
Crochet thread and a size G hook
NOTE: Thin elastic is needed for the last row to fit head snuggly.

Abbreviations:
ch (chain)
sc (single crochet)
sl st (slip stitch)
inc (increase)
st (stitch)

Gauge:
4 sts equal 1 inch
9 rows equal 2 inches

Starting at center top with 3 held together, ch 5, join with sl st.
Round 1: Make 8 sc in ring. Do not join round, but carry a contrasting color strand up between last and first st of round to indicate beginning of round.

Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around-24 sc. NOTE: pattern says 24sc but math works out to 16sc

Round 3: * 2 sc in next sc (an inc), sc in next sc, repeat from * around-24 sc.

Inc 8 sc evenly spaced around each round until there are 88 sc.

Work even until length is 5 inches from ring.

Next round: Sc in each sc to last sc, draw up a lp in last sc, drop first color to back of work.

Using two strands of color 2 and one strand of color 3, draw a lp through the 2 lps on hook and work 2 rounds even, joining color 1 in last sc of second round.

Alternate all three colors until there are three of each, working over elastic on last round, sc in each sc around to last inch, pull elastic end to cut to desired length plus 1/2; overlap ends and sew; working over joined elastic, sc in each remaining sc, sl st in next sc, fasten off.

Bow: Chain 41 with color 1 and 2.

Row 1: Sc in each ch across-40 sc.

Round 1: Sc in each sc across, joining triple strand of color 1 to end sc, fasten off.

Round 2: Sc in same sc as joining, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each sc to next 2 sc group, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, join to first sc, fasten off. Tie knot at center. Gather last 12 rounds of hat at end of rounds, tack on bow.
