Crocheted Mini Snowflake Fridgie

Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Sl: slip
St(s): stitch(es)

Special Stitches:
Picot: ch 3, sl st in first st of ch 3 just made.

Materials:
Small amount of size 10 thread
1.50 mm hook Conversion chart
needle for weaving in ends
starch to stiffen

Instructions
Rnd 1: ch 4; join with sl st to first st to form a loop.

Rnd 2: work 8 sc in loop; join with sl st to first st.(8 sts)

Rnd 3: work 2 sc in each sc around; join with sl st to first st.(16 sts)

Rnd 4: work (sc, picot, sc) in first st, sc in next st; *[(sc. Picot, sc) in next st, sc in next st.] Repeat from * around; join with sl st to first st. (8 picots)

Rnd 5: ch 8 (counts as first sc, ch 7) sc in center st between next 2 picots; *(ch 7, sc in center st between next 2 picots) repeat from * around.; join with sl st to first st. (8 ch-7 loops)

Rnd 6: in each loop work (4 sc, picot, 4 sc); sl st in next sc; * (work 4 sc, picot, 4 sc) in next loop; Sl st in next sc; repeat from * around; join with sl st to first st; fasten off.

Starch and block.

This snowflake can be used as a snowflake, a fridgie or a bookmark.

To Make Bookmark:
Make basic snowflake and starch.

Join thread with sl st to center of any picot.

Ch 43; sl st in third ch from hook; sl st in each ch; sl st in same picot as joining.; fasten off.

Make tassel by winding thread around a 3" piece of cardboard 12 times. Cut in half. Secure middle with thread and attach to ch 3 loop at bottom of long ch. Tie a piece of thread approximately 1/2" from top.

Weave in all ends.



To Make Fridgie:
Make basic snowflake.

Starch and Block

Add magnetic strip to back of snowflake.
