Lace Up Crochet Afghan Pattern

MATERIALS:
24 1/2 oz. Cherry Pink (MC)
28oz.White (3 1/2oz. Red Heart Worsted weight) (CC)
H hook or hook needed to obtain gauge

Size: Afghan size 52" by 72"

NOTE: ch 3 counts as first dc

DIRECTIONS:
Ch 271.

Row 1: With MC, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 9 ch, *(ch 10, skip 10 ch, 10 dc in next chs) Repeat across. Ch 3, turn.

Row 2: Dc in next 9 dc, *(ch 10, dc in next 10 dc) across.

Rows 3 - 6: Repeat row 2. Finish off. Change to CC.

Rows 7-12: Repeat row 2 with CC.

Continue alternating pattern (6 rows MC, 6 rows CC) til you reach 114 rows. Do not finish off.

LACE UP LOOPS: (start at bottom)
Loop 2nd loop under first, 3 rd loop under 2nd, 4th loop under 3rd.... Continue looping all loops in this fashion.

BORDER:
Row 1: With CC, sc in each dc across short end, and end of loop. 3 sc in each corner, 2 sc in each dc down long sides.

Row 2: (sc, sk 2 sc, 7 dc in next st, sk 2 sc, sc in next st) all around afghan. Finish off.

Row 3: With MC, sl st in any sc, ch 1, sc in each st around. Finish off.
