MATERIALS:
Knitting worsted, 5 1-oz. skeins white (W); 7 skeins light blue (LB) and 6 skeins medium blue (MB)
Steel crochet hook No. 00.

GAUGE: Each panel 2 1/4" wide; 5 pat rows (1 square) = 2 1/4".

PATTERN:
Row 1: 2 hdc in 3rd ch from hook (1 pat made), * sk 1 ch, 2 hdc in next ch, repeat from * twice more—4 pats. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2: * Sk next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, repeat from * across. Ch 2, turn. Repeat row 2 for pat.

CARRIAGE COVER PANEL A (make 6):
With W, ch 9 loosely. Work in pat 5 rows W. Break off W, leaving 10" end for sewing. Join MB, ch 2, turn. Always change colors this way. * Work in pat 5 rows MB, 5 rows W, repeat from * until 15 squares in all have been completed. End off.

PANEL B (make 3):
With LB, ch 9. Work in pat 5 rows LB, * 5 rows MB, 15 rows LB, repeat from * twice, end 5 rows MB, 5 rows LB. End off.

PANEL C (make 2):
With LB, ch 9. Work in pat 15 rows LB, * 5 rows MB, 15 rows LB, repeat from * twice. End off.

FINISHING: Beg with starting-ch of each panel, sew panels tog, matching squares as follows: Sew tog panels (A, B, A, C) twice, (A, B, A) once.
