Skiing Santa Ornament
MATERIALS:
Size F crochet hook
1/4 oz red 4 ply worsted weight yarn
1/4 oz pink 4 ply worsted weight yarn
1/4 oz red 3 ply baby yarn
1/4 oz white 3 ply baby yarn
Black felt
1 inch white pompom
1 6 mm red pompom
2 6 mm wiggly eyes
1 paper clip
2 tooth picks
2 snowflake sequins
1 popsicle stick
1 silver twist tie
fiber fill
black paint and a small paintbrush
glue gun
needle nose pliers
small amount of gold embroidery thread (for hanger)
HEAD
With 4 ply pink yarn, ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1,
do not turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: * Sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around, join
with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1, do not turn. (9 sc)
Rnd 3: * Sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around, join
with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1, do not turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1, do

Rnd 3: * Sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around, join with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1, do not turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1, do not turn. (6 sc)
Rnds 5 and 6: Repeat rnd 3.
Rnd 7: Sc in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st sc, ch 1, do not turn. (13 sc)
Rnds 8 thru 10: Repeat rnd 7.

Hat Brim
With 3 ply white baby yarn, ch 2
*Work in back loops thru out brim.*
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each ch across, ch 1,
turn. (6 sc total)
Rnds 2 thru 16: Sc in each st across.
Fasten off.
ASSEMBLY
Cut popsicle stick in half, then paint each half black.
Paint both toothpicks black. Firmly stuff head and upper body, whip stitch closed then weave in ends Whip stitch sides of arms together then whip stitch arms to body at shoulder areas. Cut 2 gloves out of black felt and glue to ends of arms. Using a small amount of fiberfill, glue to head in shape of beard and mustache. For nose, glue red pompom to center top of mustache. Glue wiggly eyes above nose. Whip stitch ends of hat brim together then whipstitch brim to hat. Position hat on top of head and glue securely. Glue white pompom to top of hat. Cut belt out of black felt the length to fit around waist and the width of inch. Glue to body. Shape twist tie into belt buckle shape and glue to belt. Position popsicle sticks at bottom of body as skis, glue firmly into position. Glue toothpicks into palm of each glove, and trim to a length just above skis. Glue a snowflake sequin to the bottom of each tooth pick. Open up paperclip and shape into glasses with pliers. Glue glasses into place. Attach small amount of gold embroidery thread to hat for hanger.
