Log Basket Ornament
MATERIALS:
Size G hook
yarn: small amounts of brown and red yarn
small amount of red ribbon or a small red bow
5 cinnamon sticks
SIZE: About 5" across.
DIRECTIONS:
Rnd 1: With brown yarn, ch 4, join to form a ring, work 6 sc in ring, do not join, use scrap of yarn to mark rnds. (6)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rnds 3-8: Sc around, inc 6 sc evenly sp around, end off. (36)
Rnd 7: Attach red yarn. Sc around, inc 6 sc evenly sp around, end off. (42)
Rnd 8: Attach brown yarn. Ch 3, dc around, inc 14 dc evenly sp around, join, do not fasten off. (56)
HANDLE:
Ch 20, sc in 27th st of Rnd 8, working along ch-20, [ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch] rep across ch, al st in next st of Rnd 8, fasten off.
FINISHING:
With wrong side of Rnd 8 facing, attach red yarn, sl st in each st of Rnd 8 around, fasten off.
Weave in loose ends. Glue cinnamon sticks tog. Place in basket. Using red yarn or ribbon, slip yarn/ribbon into bottom of each side of the handle, pull basket closed and tie securely. Add bow or tie the ribbon into a bow.
