Granny Square Stocking Ornament
MATERIALS:
Small amounts of any color yarn
You can use 1 color or switch colors for each of the rows
You can use any size hook depending on how large you want the stocking to be
DIRECTIONS:
Ch 3, join to form a ring.
Row 1: Ch 3, 2d, ch 1, * 3 dc, ch 1* repeat 3 more times, join. (5 clusters of 3 dc)
Row 2: Sl st to next ch 1 sp, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, * 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc* in next ch 1 sp, repeat * 3 more times around, join. (5 corners of 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc)
Row 3: Sl st to next ch 1 sp, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 dc in next sp, * 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next sp, 3 dc in next sp *, repeat 3 more times around, join (5 corners of 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, and five 3 dc clusters on the sides)
Note: You can add more rows to the stocking if you wish to make it larger. Just continue the 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc pattern for the corners and the 3 dc pattern in the side spaces.
FINISHING: Fold in half and join at the toe. Sc the stocking together until you get to the top. Then sc around top of stocking (leave top open). Ch 10 and join to make a hanging loop.
