Crochet Candle Candy Jar Pattern
MATERIALS:
Size I hook
Crystal Light canister
red, white, green, and gold yarn
SIZE: Diameter of can: 2 5/8" across, 4 1/2" tall; Height of candle: 5 1/2" tall including wick.
DIRECTIONS:
CANDLE:
With red, ch 33.
Row 1: Hdc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (31 hdc)
Row 2-11: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc here and throughout), turn, hdc in next 30 hdc, end off after Row 11. (31 hdc)
Wrap piece around Crystal Light can. Sew the sides together around the can. Remove from can.
CANDLE RUFFLE:
Join green to any ch st in Row 1 of candle. Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each ch around, join to top of beg ch-3, end off. Rnd 2: Join white in any dc in Rnd 1, ch 3, dc in next st, ch 3, * dc in next 2 dc, ch 3 *, repeat from * around, join to top of beginning ch-3, end off
LID:
With red, ch 3, join to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join to top of beg ch-3. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc, join to top of beg ch-3. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each dc, join to top of beg ch-3, end off. (24 dc)
CANDLE WICK: With gold yarn (leaving about about a 3 inch strand at the beginning), ch 6, sl st in 1st ch from hook, sc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in last st, end off leaving about a 3 inch strand. Tie the 2 strand together with a double knot.
FINISHING: Hide all yarn ends except those on the wick. Using the 3 inch strands, tie wick onto the middle of the cover for the lid, trim ends. Glue cover onto can lid stretching outside edges of it to cover the sides of the lid. Slide candle with ruffle over the Crystal Light can.
