Santa Runner and Placemats Cross Stitch

Anchor Stranded Cotton or DMC Stranded Cotton: 1 skein of each colour listed in the key
Gold metallic thread of your choice
Zweigart Aida-Stella fabric (3705/9069): 1 piece measuring 100 cm x 46 cm for the table runner and 4 pieces each measuring 58 cm x 46 cm for the placemats

To Work Table Runner
Print out chart 1. On the print out there is a diagram showing the table runner. The measurements around the edge of the diagram are in centimetres and should be used as a guide for positioning the santa designs. However, you can of course position the motifs in any way you please.
Each background square on the chart represents one block of fabric or one cross stitch or back stitch.
To Complete
On completion of the santa motifs, work a single row of cross stitch in Gold metallic around the runner as a border, again following the diagram for position. Press fabric on the reverse with a warm iron. Now trim excess fabric away all round and hem neatly.
To Work Placemats
Work a single santa motif on each placemat following chart 1. The diagrams given with the chart show how they can be positioned, but again you can place them as desired. To add extra interest you can also add a cross stitch star in Gold metallic. There are three sizes to choose from on chart 2. Place the star close to the santa motif. You may wish to centre the star around a printed star on the fabric.

Complete as for the table runner.
