Angel Sachet

Angel in pink is unstuffed, Angel in blue is stuffed

This is a multi-purpose pattern.. Leaving it flat for a fridgie, or flat ornament.. or stuffing it with potpourri or fiberfill for a round ornament or sachet.. Or you could even alter the pattern to make a snowman. Use different size threads and yarn to make different size angels.

Materials:
Caron Simply Soft - White (or color of your choice)
(you may want to chose a coordinating color for the body ruffles)
Size G crochet Hook
Tiny flowers, beads, & ribbon to decorate your finished Angel
Tapestry needle

Size: approx. 4" tall

Beginning at top of head, ch 3, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: ch1, 10 sc in ring, join with sl st to beg sc. [10sc]

Rnd2: Ch1, Sc in same sp as joining and in next st, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, 2 sc in last st, Join with sl st to beg sc. [14sc]

Rnds 3-5: Ch1, Sc in same sp as joining and in each st around. Join with sl st to beg sc. [14sc]

Rnd 6-7: Ch1, sc in same st as joining. *dec over next 2 sts, 1 sc in next st. Repeat from * around, sc in last st. Join with sl st to beg sc. [10sc, 7sc]

Starting the body...
Rnds 8-9: Ch2, hdc in same st as joining, 2hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of beg ch2 [14hdc, 28hdc]

Rnd 10: Ch2, hdc in same sp as joining, 1 hdc in each st around. join with sl st to top of beg ch-2 [28hdc]

Rnd 11: Repeat rnd 10, working in BACK LOOPS ONLY. [28hdc]

Rnd 12: Working in BACK LOOPS ONLY, Ch3, dc-dec over next two sts, repeat around. Join with sl st to beg dc [14dc]

Rnd 13: Working in both loops again, Ch 3, dc-dec over next to sts, repeat around, Join with sl st to beg dc. [7dc] Fasten off, leaving a lenth of yarn to sew opening closed.

Body Ruffle
(you can do this in a contrasting color if you wish)

With back of Angel and head facing towards you, attach yarn to first front loops of rnd11, ch1, sc in same sp, ch3, *Sl st in next st, ch 3, Repeat from * around, join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off

Repeat for second ruffle on rnd 12.

Finishing body
If angel will be flat (as for fridgie or flat ornament) Thread yarn left after Rnd 13, onto a tapestry needle and weave opening at botton of angel closed.

If Angel will be round (as for a sachet or round ornament) stuff body with potpourri or fiberfill. Thread yarn left after Rnd 13 onto a tapestry needle and weave opening at bottom of angel closed.



Wings
rnd 1: wrap yarn around finger twice, slide off, insert hook in center of ring and draw up a loop, ch1. Work 8 sc in ring, join. turn.

rnd 2: ch4, tr in same sp as ch-4, 2dc in next st, 2 hdc in next, 2 sc in next, 2 sc in next, 2 hdc in next, 2 dc in next, 2 tr in last, DO NOT JOIN, turn.

rnd 3: ch4, tr in same sp as ch-4, 2 tr in next, 2 dc in next, 2dc in next, 2 hdc in next, 1dc & 1 tr in next, 1tr in next, 1 tr in next, ch4, sl st in same sp as last tr, sl st in next st, ch4, tr in same sp as ch-4, tr in next, 1 tr & 1dc in next, 2hdc in next, 2dc in next, 2dc in next, 2tr in next, 1tr in last, ch4, sl st in base of ch-4. Fasten off.

Halo
For Halo, ch10, join with sl st to form ring, ch1, sc in same sp, ch3, *sl st in next sp,ch3 , repeat from * around. Join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off..

Weave in all loose ends. Glue center of wings to back of angel with tr-sts of wings towards top of head. Glue halo centered to the back of the head. Add beads, ribbon and roses to decorate however you wish.
